2004 Meritage, Columbia Valley
This unique Meritage Red Blend is from hand-selected vineyards in the Columbia Valley. Dark to the point of inky, fragrant with red and black fruits, oak and earthy. Deep dark tannins. Smooth to the finish.
The Meritage Association identifies hand-crafted wines blended from the traditional "noble" Bordeaux varietals.
"Meritage" was coined to identify wines that represent the highest form of the winemaker's art, blending, and distinguish these wines from the more generic moniker "red table wine." "Meritage," pronounced like "heritage," is an invented word that combines "merit" and "heritage." Enjoy!

The 2005 Grand Reserve Merlot is rich in crimson color, highlighting chocolate, blueberry, and red currant flavors, and hints of pepper spice. Aged for 30 months in new and one-year-old barrels (60% French oak, 30% Eastern European oak, and 10% Spanish Coppered French oak) the tannins in this wine are beautifully balanced.
